*All Aggressors are equipped with 80-cu. ft. aluminum tanks. A few 60-cu. ft. tanks are availble upon request. Tanks have "K" valves for use with standard yoke regulators. "DIN" and "J" valves are not used.

Nitrox

1. What is Nitrox?
Nitrox is "glorified air" with a higher percentage of oxygen than normal surface air. Surface air is made of 21% oxygen, 78% nitrogen and 1% mixed gasses. Nitrox used on Aggressors is 32% oxygen, 65% nitrogen and 1% mixed gasses. Nitrox gives the diver less saturation of nitrogen, the gas responsible for decompression sickness.

2. Which Aggressor yachts have Nitrox fills available?
Bay Islands, Belize, Cayman, Fiji, Galapagos, Kona, Okeanos, Palau, Tahiti, Turks & Caicos have Nitrox. All Aggressors offer Nitrox.

3. Do I have to be Nitrox certified to dive Nitrox?
Yes. Nitrox certification courses are offered at your local dive shop and on board all Aggressors.

4. How much is a Nitrox course?
The Nitrox Certification Course is $150.00 This includes all necessary equipment (tanks, use of oxygen analyzer, use of course materials, instructor, and check out dives). Any student can continue to dive with Nitrox the entire week once they have completed the course. Certification will be TDI, PADI, NAUI, SSI or other.

5. Can I take the Nitrox certification class work before my trip and complete my check out dives during my vacation?
Yes. Your local dive shop offers the classroom portion of the Nitrox certification course. The Nitrox Open Water Check Out Dives are $75.00. This includes instructor, use of course materials, and tanks. Certification is by referral and returned to original instructor for actual certification, unless authorized in advance by the academic instructor.

6. Is there a fee for Nitrox fills?
Yes. Unlimited Nitrox fills are $100.00 per diver, for the week and it cannot be shared. This includes all Nitrox fills at 32% for certified Nitrox diver, proof of certification required. We recommend use for a four dives per day based on the users P02 level. Per tank fills are $10.00 each. Nitrox student fills are $80.00 per diver for week and cannot be shared. This includes all Nitrox tank fills at 32% beyond the certification level and are only available to those who take the course on board.

Rebreather

*Check rebreather equipment availability prior to traveling. Subject to change without notice.

1. What is a rebreather?
Unlike SCUBA, in which air flows from a tank and then is expelled into the water by a diver, air is taken in by the diver from the rebreather unit and the exhaled carbon dioxide is cycled back through the rebreather where it is "scrubbed" by soda sorb and "oxygenated" by Nitrox to be safely breathed.

SCUBA is an open-circuit system and air is very noisily exhaled from the diver's mouth. Semi-closed circuit rebreathers very quietly release a small amount of exhaled air through the back of the rebreather. The lack of noisy bubbles allows a rebreather diver to dive quietly, getting very close to marine life.

2. What is "rebreather friendly"?
Rebreather friendly defines a boat that has rental rebreather units, rebreather course instructors, soda sorb and rebreather Nitrox tanks on board. The Bay Islands, Galapagos, Okeanos and Turks & Caicos Aggressors are rebreather friendly. *All rebreather divers must dive with a buddy.

3. Which Aggressor yachts have rebreathers available?
Bay Islands, Galapagos, Okeanos and Turks & Caicos. One or two units are kept on board.

4. Which rebreather units are used on board?

Drager Dolphins or Drager Ray semi-closed circuit rebreathers fitted with PO2 monitors.

5. Do I have to be rebreather certified to dive with a rebreather?

Yes. If you bring your own rebreather unit, you must show proof of certification. If not, you may take a "Rebreather Experience" or "Rebreather Certification" course.

6. How much is a rebreather course?

The Rebreather Experience Course is $100.00 It includes lecture, set up, training and one dive with an instructor. The Rebreather Experience Course only requires an Open Water Certification. A full Rebreather Certification Course is $350.00. Nitrox certification is required for the Rebreather Certification Course.

7. Do you offer rebreather checkout dives?

The rebreather checkout dives are $200.00 This includes lecture, set up, rebreather unit, gas, soda sorb, training and necessary dives with an instructor.

8. I am rebreather certified, may I rent a rebreather?
Yes. Rebreather rental is $25.00 per dive (must show proof of certification). Per dive price includes soda lime, cleaning and gas. The rebreather rental price for an entire week is $300 plus gas and soda sorb. Weekly rental does not include gas and soda sorb.

9. Can I dive with my own rebreather?
Yes. Divers must show proof of rebreather certification and are required to perform proper flow checks before each dive and within tolerances. Rebreather use must be in use with a PO2 monitor, providing continuous monitoring of PO2 by the user. Rebreather divers are required to follow all recommended/required procedures in accordance with the model/type operating manual of the manufacturer.

10. Do you provide tanks and a soda sorb on board?
Yes. If you bring your own rebreather unit, soda sorb, cleaning solution and 28 cu. ft. tanks are available on board the Bay Islands, Galapagos, Okeanos and Turks & Caicos Aggressors. For rebreather units using a 32% Nitrox orifice, 50 cu. ft. tanks are available on board. There is no charge for the tanks. One or two tanks are kept on board.

11. How much do you charge for a soda sorb?
If you bring your own rebreather unit, soda sorb is $20 for a full canister fill (enough for about four dives). *This price is subject to change without notice and may vary on each vessel due to import fees.

12. How much is a Nitrox rebreather fill?
The cost is $10.00 per tank (for guests with their own rebreather unit) partial pressure blending for up to 50% Nitrox. The cost is $10.00 per tank or $100 unlimited (for guests with their own rebreather unit) using standard 32% Nitrox.
